Founded in 2000, RxMD is a strategic execution group providing clinical development expertise to the biotech and pharmaceutical community.

Managed and operated by physician-scientists, RxMD has contributed to the development of several drug candidates and helped bring five drugs to commercialization.

Leadership Biographies

Sanjay Shukla, M.D., M.S.
Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Shukla has over 10 years of functionally versatile drug development experience. Most recently he served as Vice President of Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance at Vifor Pharma. Prior to Vifor's acquisition of Aspreva Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Shukla served in a variety of leadership positions at Aspreva including Drug Development Operations, Data Management, Biostatistics, and Clinical Sciences. In addition, he spent time as Director of Investor and Media Relations at Aspreva. Dr. Shukla received his medical degree from The Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, D.C. He holds a master's degree in Epidemiology from The University of Maryland at Baltimore, with an emphasis in Medical Informatics.

Vis Niranjan, M.D.
President and Founder

Dr. Niranjan founded RxMD in 2000. He has established a track record of drug development execution spanning over 12 years. He has provided executive management consulting on various clinical programs in many therapeutic areas. These include successful filings of NDA's for influenza, hepatitis B & C, HIV, and erectile dysfunction. Dr. Niranjan received his medical degree from the University of Bombay, India and completed a fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Critical Care. He also received postdoctoral training in molecular biology from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.
